COVERS Four was recorded over the period of about a year (2020/2021) at my studio in Hamburg, Germany. Mostly recorded for my monthly 'Sounds Like Dirk' radio show on bremen zwei, but sometimes just for kicks and because it's always a good thing to learn, play and record songs by fantastic songwriters. There's plenty to learn here and it's always, always inspiring and fun, too. Also, every song featured here has a very special place in my heart so recording them was just a joy in itself. I played all the instruments, sang, recorded and mixed. The only time the 'tapes' ever left the building (that would be wav files sent via wetransfer in 2021!) was to find their way to Doug Krebs studio in Fort Collins, Colorado for mastering. COVERS FOUR (the name kinda gives it away) is part of a series of collections of cover songs I've recorded over the last few years. I'm covering quite some ground here bit I think (and hope) they make a good companion to all the original songs I've put out there over the years. Anyway, have fun with this. D
