about

'Will You Love Me Tomorrow', also known as "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" was written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, Brill Building writers extraordinaire.
It was originally recorded in 1960 by the Shirelles, who took the single to the top of the US single charts. It was also the very first song by a black all-girl group to reach number one in the United States. It has since been recorded by so many artists over the years, including a 1971 version by co-writer Carole King on her 'Tapestry' album, which my sister Petra bought and brought home in Teaneck, New Jersey on release in 1971 and that a very young Dirk (I was 6 years old) could not get enough of. What a classic! I love every song on that record and this one is definitely one of the very best. Here's my 'late night on a Friday in early February' version, recorded in my attic-as usual.
